  • Pirate junior catcher Kaylee Desrosier has been named to the All-Section 8AA Team. Desrosier was also selected as her team's Most Valuable Player.
    Sophomore centerfielder Carly Welter was selected as her squad's Rookie of the Year.
    Desrosier played in all 21 games this season, leading the team in runs scored (25), walks (23), slugging percentage (.633) and on-base percentage (.595). She tied for first in doubles (5), triples (2) and home runs (1); she was second in hits (19), RBI (15) and batting average (.388).
    Welter led the team with 26 hits, 20 RBI and a .400 batting average. She was co-leader in doubles (5) and triples (2) and home runs (1). In her 21 games, she was second in runs (20), slugging percentage (.585) and had an on-base percentage of .435.
