  • Minnesota, Crookston senior running back Richard Haley has been selected to the Beyond Sports College Network (BSN) Preseason All-American Second Team.
    The 6-foot-5, 205-pound Detroit, Mich. native rushed for 1,556 yards and eight touchdowns in his junior season, his first with the Golden Eagles. He averaged 141.5 yards per game and 5.1 yards per carry, leading the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
    Haley's 1,556 rushing yards last year set the U of M, Crookston single-season record. His 305 attempts also set a school record.
    Haley and the Golden Eagles start their season Aug. 30 on the road against Winona State. The home opener is set for Sept. 8 against Concordia, St. Paul at 1 p.m.
