Brian Peterson completes 100-mile race in Calif. mountains

Crookston native Brian Peterson, a Minneapolis resident, completed the Western States Endurance Run of 100 miles on Saturday and Sunday in Auburn, Calif.

Peterson, 27, finished 35th of 316 finishers with a time of 18 hours, 50 minutes, 51 seconds. He started at 5 a.m. on Saturday in Squaw Valley, Calif. and finished at 11:50 p.m. in Auburn, Calif.

Many consider the Western States 100 the most difficult race in America.
